PROJECTS

Foresight's rapidly growing portfolio of projects under development is now greater than 2,000 MW. It includes two fully permitted wind parks that are ready for construction, two projects in active development, and a range of projects in earlier stages of development across the West. Foresight Wind Energy is continually adding new projects to its portfolio through building relationships with land owners, tribes and other project partners.

Sunshine Wind Park, Arizona

  • 60 MW, on combination of Hopi private fee lands and private ranch lands
  • Fully permitted
  • Transmission studies complete, first in transmission queue
  • Fully documented wind resource with tall on-site anemometry begun in Feb 2002
  • The most fully developed and market-ready wind project in Arizona
  • www.SunshineWind.com

Owaissa Wind Ranch, New Mexico

  • 120 MW, private ranch lands
  • Fully permitted
  • Transmission studies complete, first in transmission queue
  • Fully documented wind resource, with tall on-site anemometry begun in 2002

Foresight Wind is actively developing a range of additional projects on private, tribal and government lands across the Desert Southwest and other western states. Due to the competitive nature of the wind development business, Foresight does not publish information on its earlier stage projects.

High Lonesome Wind Ranch

  • 100 MW, private ranch lands
  • Final permitting stage
  • Transmission studies completed
  • Fully documented wind resource, with tall on-site anemometry begun in 2004

High Lonesome Wind Ranch is a commercial wind energy generation facility under development approximately 9 miles south of Willard in Torrance County, New Mexico. The project is sited on private lands on Mesa de los Jumanos at an average elevation of 6,700 feet. Construction is planned to begin in Spring 2008 with electricity generation to commence in December 2008. Click here for additional information on High Lonesome Wind Ranch.

Grapevine Canyon Wind

  • 200-500 MW, private ranch lands and state trust lands
  • Feasibility and transmission studies underway
  • On-site anemometry begun in 2005

Foresight is working with Flying M Ranch to develop a wind project on checkerboard private and state trust lands. Based on the wind resource and power market, the project could potentially generate up to 500 megawatts of clean energy. This is equivalent to the average annual electricity needs of approximately 125,000 Arizona residences.
